Laser technology eradicates tattoos by utilizing a concentrated beam of light to dismantle pigment colors. Black ink, absorbing all laser wavelengths, is the simplest color to eliminate. Different colors require specific lasers based on their pigment hues.
In the tattoo removal process, laser light targets the tattooed skin area, selectively absorbed by the ink particles. This absorption heats the tattoo ink, causing it to fragment into smaller particles. The surrounding skin and chromophores remain unaffected by this process.
Following the laser treatment, the body’s immune system begins to flush out these fragmented ink particles over days and weeks. This gradual elimination causes the tattoo to fade progressively. With each treatment, more ink breaks down until the skin becomes clear of ink residue.
